Family Program Coordinator

Overview


The purpose of the Family Program Coordinator is to provide training, parent coaching, mentoring and discipleship for Missionary Training School students’ families and children in a manner that nurtures and challenges the whole family in preparation for their future cross-cultural ministry together.

The role is based out of Atlanta, GA , and the Family Program Coordinator has the ability to work on site and from home on a regular basis. This ministry role is full-time and support-raising is required.



Key Responsibilities



  • Provide and mentor missionary families for fruitful service by securing their practical foundations in Clarkston (housing, schooling, etc.) and ensuring their spiritual readiness to fulfill the Great Commission.

  • Nurture and support the emotional and mental needs of the student families with children.

  • Maintain and grow the Family Program Curriculum based on up-to-date and relevant TCK trends and research.

  • Coach MTS students who have children on a weekly basis.

  • Monitor long-term effectiveness of GFM's family program and broader industry initiatives and trends.

  • Engage in departmental team meetings to sustain and develop the body of GFM.

  • Design and implement family program and initiatives in alignment with GFM's strategic vision.


Required Qualifications



  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose , vision, values , and statement of faith.

  • Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17).

  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15).

  • Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25).

  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26).

  • Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, etc.).

  • Must have experience working with children in professional settings.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents.

  • Must have ability to manage administrative tasks such as keeping curriculum updated.

  • Must support other Family Program staff members.

  • Must be comfortable with public speaking events.

  • Must have the availability for travel to conferences and meetings with partner organizations.


Recommended



  • Minimum of one year overseas experience.

  • Education or experience in childhood development and/or TCK related material.

  • Complete the Missionary Training School program.
